One of the great things about living in Utah is our proximity to world class ski resorts. Uinta Brewing has found a way to take advantage of that little detail by offering a party bus to Brighton Resort on select Thursday evenings during the ski season. You won’t find a better way to spend a cold winter’s night than drinking beer and doing hot laps with your friends on the slopes. This is one bus you won’t want to miss!
Brighton is one of the few resorts in Utah to offer night skiing. When the sun goes down and temperatures drop, the mountain lights up like a Christmas tree, and lifts continue to spin for the night owls. It’s a completely different feel from skiing or riding during the day. Unless you have a good headlamp, venturing off the lit, groomed runs is out of the question. Shadows lurk behind every tree, and you’ll need to stay on your toes to navigate safely down. But, with the darkness comes a focus, a tunnel vision that makes your job very simple. Fly down the mountain as fast and playfully as you like, then do it all over again.
The chair ride up is a time for socializing and perhaps staying warm by sneaking a sip from a flask or a “lift beer.” Of course, alcohol is not actually allowed on the lifts so keep it cool. There’s an atmosphere at the resort, especially at night, of hilarity and merriment. The hours are filled with alternating intervals of leisurely rides up and exhilarating spurts of adrenaline on the way down. The warm glow of intoxication, both natural and chemical, tempered by the sharpness of the cold air on your face.
It’s an invigorating way to spend the evening! If you’ve got friends to enjoy it with, all the better. The Uinta Ski Bus just takes things to another level, providing transportation, beer, and entertainment for a full evening of fun. Buy your ticket in advance and meet at Uinta Brewing at 5pm to load up. Your $50 ticket includes beer and sandwiches on the bus ride up, a lift ticket, and a raffle to win prizes on the way down. Season pass holders can purchase tickets for $25. Uinta also provides live music at the slope side bar, Molly Greens. When the lifts close at 9pm, head on over for some après drinks before catching the bus back down at 10pm.
To join the party, make your plans to catch the Uinta Ski Bus February 13, and get your tickets before they sell out. Additional dates are coming up on March 5th and 26th so watch Uinta Brewing’s social media for ticket information on future events. Plans are also in the works to bring the Uinta Ski Bus to Davis county on March 9th, starting from Lucky Slice Pizza in Ogden with transportation to Powder Mountain. So, get stoked, grab your gear, and don’t miss the bus!
